On December 3, 2018 the Board of the National Bank of Belarus approved of the list of commemorative coins planned for issuance in circulation in 2019.
Coins on sports topics are traditionally popular in Belarus and abroad. Especially for the II European Games (competition among athletes of the European continent) held in Minsk, Belarus in summer of 2019, the National Bank will issue commemorative coins "II European Games of 2019. Minsk".
It has already become a tradition to issue commemorative coins dedicated to the bird of the year which is determined by the public association "Akhova ptushak Baskaushchiny". In 2019, a large spotted eagle was chosen as such a bird. The coin "vyalikі harlets" (large spotted eagle) will be the 13th in the commemorative coin series Bird of the Year . The series of commemorative coins on environmental protection will also be continued with the issuance of coins “Zakaznіk Zvanets” as part of the "Zakaznіkі Belarusi" series.
Commemorative coins will be dedicated to the jubilee dates dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from Nazi invaders, the 200th anniversary of the birth of composer Stanislav Monyushko and the 1000th anniversary of the founding of Brest.
The topic of historical and cultural values will be continued with commemorative coins “Razba na drave” (“Woodcarving”) of the series “Crafts and traditions of Belarus”, as well as regular commemorative coins of the series "Architectural heritage of Belarus".
According to the Chinese calendar, 2020 is the year of the Rat. In continuation of the series "Kitaisky kalyandar" ("Chinese calendar"), a commemorative coin "Year of Patsuk" ("Year of the Rat") will be issued in 2019.
The series "World through the Eyes of Children" will be completed in 2019. In addition to the previously issued coins, the design of which was composed from the drawings of children who won the open children's drawing contest "Children Draw Coins", commemorative coins"The World through the Eyes of Children. 2019" will be issued.
