Just out in our shop

One of the rarest belarusian coins "200 years of A.Mitskevich" is now on sale in the souvenir shop of the GROSHI money museum. A commemorative silver coin dedicated to Adam Mitskevich with a mistake in the years of life is of great collectible value. On the abverse of the coin the 1798 - 1854 is depicted as poet's years of life, while the correct figures are 1798 - 1855.

After the error was discovered the series of the coin was extracted and three months later the coins with the correct dates were emitted. But 94 silver coins with a mistake were sold and stayed at the collectioners. Today it's very difficult to find a genuine copy of the coin with the mistake on sale.

Apart from a silver coin with nominal value of 10 rubles a copper-nikel coin of 1 ruble was emitted with the same mistake in the years of life. Copper-nikel coins didn't make it to the market and today the only one of them is kept in the museum of the National Bank.
