Discription
The coin has the shape of a circle, on the front and back sides there is a rim along the circumference. The edge of the coin is corrugated.
Obverse
Within a circle geometric ornament - a relief image of the State Emblem of the Republic of Belarus; below - the year of coinage, alloy standard and fine silver content; circle inscription at the top: "РЭСПУБЛIКА БЕЛАРУСЬ" (THE REPUBLIC OF BELARUS), at the bottom - "ДВАЦЦАЦЬ РУБЛЁЎ"(TWENTY ROUBLES) on the silver coin and "АДЗІН РУБЕЛЬ" (ONE ROUBLE) on the copper–nickel one.
Reverse
In the center – a relief image of the Volkovysk State Emblem; circle inscriptions – at the top: "ВАЎКАВЫСК" (VOLKOVYSK), in the center - "1000 ГОД" (1000 YEARS), at the bottom - a relief image of the city buildings.
