Discription
The coin is round. On the front and back sides there is a rim along the circumference. The edge of the coin is grained.
Obverse
In the center – a relief image of the State Emblem of the Republic of Belarus; a circular inscriptions: РЭСПУБЛІКА БЕЛАРУСЬ (THE REPUBLIC OF BELARUS), at the bottom – 20 РУБЛЁЎ (20 ROUBLES) on the silver coin and 1 РУБЕЛЬ (1 ROUBLE) on the copper-nickel one; along the rim – a stylized wreath of leaves and flowers of cornflower and clover representing the inflorescence of crafts closely intertwined to form the endlessness of a circle as a symbol of longevity and happiness; and on the left side — the year of issue and on the right side — the alloy standard on the silver coin.
Reverse
In the center against the background of a decorative Belarusian rural landscape — a stylized image of a bridge in the form of the horseshoe with the horsemen on both sides thereof; within the horseshoe — the representation of a village church; and at the top — a circular inscription on the twisted wrought iron rods: КАВАЛЬСТВА (THE SMITH CRAFT).
