Discription
The coin is round. On the front and back sides there is a rim along the circumference. The coin’s edge is reeded.
Obverse
At the top — a relief image of the State Emblem of the Republic of Belarus and a circular inscription: РЭСПУБЛIКА БЕЛАРУСЬ (THE REPUBLIC OF BELARUS); in the center — a decorative composition in the style of the straw craft representing the stylized DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) molecule with X and Y chromosomes on either side; beneath: on the left side — the year of issue (and the alloy standard on the silver coin) and on the right side — the denomination: 20 РУБЛЁЎ (20 RUBLES) on the silver coin and 1 РУБЕЛЬ (1 RUBLE) on the copper-nickel one.
Reverse
In the centre — the picture of a baby who is brought by the stork; beneath — the picture of a village hut with a tree in the background; and at the bottom — a circular inscription: БАЦЬКОЎСТВА (FATHERHOOD).
