Commemorative coin "The Struve Geodetic arc"

Discription

The coin has the shape of a circle, on the front and back sides there is a rim along the circumference. The edge of the coin is corrugated.

Obverse

In the left-hand side at the top - a relief image of the State Emblem of the Republic of Belarus; circle inscription: "РЭСПУБЛIКА БЕЛАРУСЬ" (THE REPUBLIC OF BELARUS); in the center – a planimetric plotting of the Republic of Belarus and the circuit of points of The Struve Geodetic arc on its territory, at the bottom – the year of coinage, alloy standard and denomination: "ДВАЦЦАЦЬ РУБЛЁЎ"(TWENTY ROUBLES) on the silver coin and "АДЗІН РУБЕЛЬ" (ONE ROUBLE) on copper–nickel coin.

Reverse

On the left – a relief image of the map of Europe on which The Struve Geodetic arc passes, on the right - an image of the map of the world, below - the inscription: The Struve Geodetic arc and its extent – 2880 km, over the perimeter of a coin - the names of the countries The Struve Geodetic arc passes through: NORWAY, SWEDEN, FINLAND, ESTONIA, LATVIA, LITHUANIA, THE UKRAINE, MOLDOVA.
