Discription
The coin has the shape of a circle, on the front and back sides there is a rim along the circumference. The edge of the coin is corrugated.
Obverse
Within a circle geometric ornament - a relief image of the State Emblem of the Republic of Belarus; below - the year of coinage, alloy standard and fine silver content; circle inscription at the top: "РЭСПУБЛIКА БЕЛАРУСЬ" (THE REPUBLIC OF BELARUS), at the bottom - "ДВАЦЦАЦЬ РУБЛЁЎ"(TWENTY ROUBLES) on the silver coin and "АДЗІН РУБЕЛЬ" (ONE ROUBLE) on the copper–nickel one.
Reverse
In the center in the background – a relief image of the Minsk castle gates (12th century) reconstructed by Yu.A. Zayats; in the foreground – a relief image of the Roman–Catholic Cathedral and a tower with a chiming clock in Cathedral Square (early 20–th century), in right–hand side at the top – the city's state emblem; circle inscriptions: "MIHCK" (MINSK) and "ГАРАДЫ БЕЛАРУСI" (BELARUSIAN CITIES).
