Discription

The coin has the shape of a circle, on the front and back sides there is a rim along the circumference. The edge of the coins bears inscription "УМАЦАВАННЕ І АБАРОНА ДЗЯРЖАВЫ" (FORTIFICATION AND DEFENDING THE STATE).

Obverse

In the center – a reconstruction of an ancient fortress in Izyaslavl (Zaslavl) of Rogneda’s times; at the top – a relief image of the State Emblem of the Republic of Belarus; circle inscription – "РЭСПУБЛIКА БЕЛАРУСЬ" (REPUBLIC OF BELARUS); at the bottom – year of coinage, (silver coin – alloy standard) and the denomination: "ДВАЦЦАЦЬ РУБЛЁЎ"(TWENTY ROUBLES) – on the silver coin and "АДЗІН РУБЕЛЬ" (ONE ROUBLE) – on the copper–nickel one.

Reverse

A relief image of Rogvolod of Polotsk and Rogneda, to the right of them – the image of shallop; circle inscription: Rogvolod of Polotsk and Rogneda and years of their reign: 970–980 and 985–989 accordingly.
