Discription
The coin has the shape of a circle, on the front and back sides there is a rim along the circumference. The edge of the coins bears inscription "УМАЦАВАННЕ І АБАРОНА ДЗЯРЖАВЫ" (FORTIFICATION AND DEFENDING THE STATE).
Obverse
In the center – a reconstruction of the citadel gateway of ancient Mensk; at the top – a relief image of the State Emblem of the Republic of Belarus, circle inscription: "РЭСПУБЛIКА БЕЛАРУСЬ" (THE REPUBLIC OF BELARUS), at the bottom – the year of coinage (silver coin – alloy standard), and denomination: "ДВАЦЦАЦЬ РУБЛЁЎ"(TWENTY ROUBLES) – on the silver coin and "АДЗІН РУБЕЛЬ" (ONE ROUBLE) – on the copper–nickel one.
Reverse
A relief image of Gleb of Mensk, on the left – the representation of the unique stone icon of the Theotokos dating back to the 12th–13th centuries found during the excavations of ancient Mensk, and a circle inscription: ГЛЕБ МЕНСКІ (GLEB OF MENSK) and the period of his reign: 1101 - 1119.
